Field of Avalon Glastonbury. Glastonbury Festival has many areas. You have the stages like The Pyramid, Other Stage and West Holts that you regularly see on the BBC coverage. Then you have areas like The Field of Avalon, which could be from Glastonbury 1527, not Glastonbury 2027.
The more I go to Glastonbury, the more I appreciate areas like this. The creativity is all around you, and you can tell that the area is built from love. It is one of my favourite areas of the festival and here is why:

The Avalon Stage

The main attraction of The Field of Avalon is The Avalon Stage. Every year, this stage features amazing artists covering everything from Blues, Rock, and Punk to Pop and Cabaret. It made its debut at the festival in 1994. It is one of the few covered stages at Glastonbury, which comes in handy if it is a hot Glasto or wet Glastonbury. The capacity is around 3,000.
The Avalon Inn

The Avalon Inn is probably my favourite bar at Glastonbury Festival. I will never forget the first time I stumbled upon it at one of my first Glastonburys (stumble being the operative word!). I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. A two-floor Medieval Inn in the middle of the festival!

It is a great place to meet people and, of course, watch live entertainment. There are not many areas at Glastonbury where there isn’t a stage, hence why there are over 100 of them.
The Avalon Inn is on my Glastonbury Bar Crawl. It is very hard to get the people to leave here, as you can imagine.
An Island of Calm

The Field of Avalon always has a calm feel to it. It is amazing how the energy changes from area to area at Glastonbury. When I need some chill-out time but still want to drink, I head here. (For a proper wind-down, chill-out session, I head to The Healing Fields.)
You often see people just lying on the grass between the Avalon Inn and the Avalon Stage. They might get up to see a band, get a pint or go down the Helter Skelter. Yep, there is a Helter Skelter here too, yet another reason to love the area. Whenever I write the word Helter Skelter or read it, I can’t help but start singing one of my favourite Beatles songs!

If you are new to Glastonbury Festival, I highly recommend spending some time at The Field of Avalon. It is one of the areas that makes Glastonbury so unique and different from other festivals. I will see you at The Avalon Inn!
See you on the farm.
