Pylon Ground Glastonbury. 2025 update. The Pylon Ground campsite is the second campsite you come across as you enter the festival from Gate A. It is just below the Darble campsite.
For 2025, there is a small area for public camping. The rest of the field is for crew camping. If you don’t fancy walking far after being in the queue, then this could be a good spot for you, especially if you are coming to the festival by public transport. Just bear in mind that it is called The Pylon Ground for a reason. There are Pylons in it! They make a slight static noise, so if you think this will bother you, it’s best to camp elsewhere.
Where is the best place to park for the Pylon Ground?

The best car parks for the Pylon Ground are the pink or Orange ones.
Which gate is best for the Pylon Ground to enter?

Gate A is the closest gate to the Pylon Ground Campsite. You can get to it from Gate D, too.
How quickly does the Pylon Ground fill up?

In the past, when the whole field was for public camping, there was space up to Wednesday night and even Thursday morning. Now that the area is small, I expect it to fill quite quickly.
(Hot tip, if people are looking for somewhere to camp when they come in later on the wed or later in the week, ask at a campsite crewbase as they will either have the latest figures written on their crewbase maps or they will know as it will have come over the radios during the day.)
Is the Pylon Ground noisy?

It can be yes, as it is right next to Silver Hayes. However, you will be so exhausted that you most probably will collapse.
Pros and Cons of Camping at The Pylon Ground, Glastonbury
Pros:
- It is close to Gate A. Ideal if you are arriving at Glastonbury by public transport
- It is close to Silver Hayes and The Other Stage
- It is close to Woodsies and The Wood
Cons:
- It can be noisy from nearby Silver Hayes and the pylons located in the field
- It will probably fill quickly as it is a small area
- It is far from Shangri-La, The Unfairground, The Common and Block 9
Conclusions
The Pylon Ground is perfect if you are entering Gate A and just want to put up your tent ASAP. If you don’t mind walking to the action, then this could be your spot. However, it can be noisy and most probably will fill up quickly.
Remember, you will hardly spend any time in your tent, so don’t stress too much about where you camp.
