R.A.E Glastonbury Tips Interview. This is the second interview with a past winner of Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition. R.A.E won the 2020 emerging talent competition but had to wait two years to perform because of Covid and Glastonbury 2020 and 2021 cancellations.

The Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition has been going on for many years and is open to new UK and Ireland acts from any musical genre. Winners get to perform on one of the main stages at Glastonbury Festival.
They also receive a £5,000 Talent Development prize from the PRS Foundation to help take their songwriting and performing to the next level. Two runners-up will also each be awarded a £2,500 PRS Foundation Talent Development prize.
Congratulations on winning Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition. How did you find out about it?

Thank you so much! It was my manager who actually applied for me behind my back, hahaha. I had no clue he did that!
What was it like playing at Glastonbury 2022?

It was an amazing experience! Although I had a major issue when I arrived because my team and I never received our Glastonbury tickets in the post (I initially thought we would collect them once we arrived), we were told we could not enter without them, so I was really gutted that I waited 2 years to basically not perform.
However, I was with a camera crew, and one of the members who had a pass went and spoke to the organisers about the situation and new tickets were able to be printed for us. I was extremely happy and thanked God for coming through.
Had you been to Glastonbury before?

Never! I’m not really a festival person per se. Hahaha, I went to one (I can’t remember), but I said to myself, 3 years prior, the next time I come to a festival, I need to be performing at one and then I had festival bookings come in ever since. I would definitely do Glastonbury again if the opportunity arises.
What tips would you give to people attending Glastonbury for the first time?

Practice doing 10k to 30k steps a day because you’ll be walking at least 10k steps between the different stages. I didn’t know there were over 100 stages at Glastonbury, I definitely lost weight that weekend!
Let loose and make friends because everyone is honestly great vibes.
What plans do you have for 2025?

I plan on releasing a lot more music this year. Expect collabs, as that’s something I haven’t really done before. Hopefully, I will perform in Brazil, as they are one of my top listeners and I’ll see what else God has in store for me.
Where can people see you play and hear your music?

They can hear my music on any streaming platform at R.A.E
I don’t have any performances lined up yet, but hopefully, I will soon. I miss performing. I took a break from music, and I became a bit anxious about being on the stage, but I’m ready now, so yeah.
Thank you so much, R.A.E! Please do get out there and let us know when you do.
